The second team tries to lure the new X-Men to the fracture site.

The X-Men - some intensely familiar and some completely new - were tearing apart the last of the remaining Sentinels. Despite the power the thirty foot robots wielded, it was clear they were outmatched and the mutants well versed to their tactics. As they charged the last few, Kane's voice crackled over their comms.

"We have a situation here. I've uploaded a GPS location to your computers. You need to find a way to get the X-Men here as soon as possible."

Alani scanned the face of her Goober, mentally trying to place everything, before looking to the others. "Okay. Okay, we can do that." Of course, she was talking more to hype herself as the gears were still turning in her head. "Lead them on a merry chase? Or what are y'all thinking?"

“Yes! I’m in favor of the most merry of chases,” Meggan agreed without hesitation. Even if it wasn’t really merry, of course. Everything else she pondered just didn’t seem feasible in a situation like this. “Getting a chase going until they get too turned around does feel like it’d be the most reasonable way.” No matter how badly she might have phrased that, it felt like the best thing they could do.

"That could work," said Pixie, summoning her Will o' Wisp spell. "Let's see how they like my dust. If that doesn't disorient them, I can try to dazzle them with faerie light." She hovered just above the ground, one hand on her hip and the other spinning the ball of light.

"Perfect," Alani had begun to stretch the moment Meggan had agreed, face unreadable before she brightened considerably when Pixie's light appeared. "I could get glow-y if it'd help, once we get started. Thoughts on what we wanna do in case some of them are fully immune?" Best to plan that out that possibility before they faced it with no plan b. Turning to Meggan, she cocked her head. "These Sentinels don't happen to have something that you could mimic, right?"

Meggan wasn’t entirely certain what she could do that might help against those Sentinels, but she would do her level best to throw an idea out there. “If they were just shooting out and out pure electricity and I had something to ground it with, I could get in tune with that and just eat it up...but I think it’s likely more to it than that in some of those beams,” she pointed out.

Pixie glanced at the tech on her arm. "If it turns out the Sentinels are fully immune to our powers, they're really just the lure to get the X-Men to the location, right? So we'll just play keep-away but not get so far ahead that we lose them."

Alani nodded quickly, happy that she'd asked before doing anything, especially as that fact had flown out of her head. “Very smart. Alright. Let’s play, what the fuck is that called, flag football. Because my brain’s a little on the fritz, any idea how close we gotta be to get a Sentinel to notice us? Or we just creep up until they notice?” Of course, she’d begun to edge closer to the action as the words were leaving her mouth.

Meggan wasn’t really the Sentinel expert, but she felt like she would not be remiss by going with the theory that the range for Sentinels was rather sizable. Alani’s plan could work, such as it was! “I’d say yes to that. Creep about the peripheral, unless and until they start trumpeting that they see us with all the normal warning signs,” she suggested.

Pixie dove to the side as a red beam seared the air just centimeters from where she'd been hovering. "I think they noticed us!" The things had range, too. She spun in the air, summoning her dust from beneath her skin and the scales of her wings.

"Time to go - upwind!"

When a Sentinel turned its attention to them, the range much wider than Alani had anticipated, she'd hit the ground as quickly as she could, which meant she’d unintentionally knocked the wind out of herself. The rumbling cry of UNIDENTIFIED MUTANTS had her scrambling backwards and to her feet as quickly as she could. "Love that that worked but hate that it worked like that!"

Startled by the quick identification, Meggan began to move to Alani’s side out of concern, before she saw she was okay. “That’s the drawback, but we have to keep distracting them!” There was no real way to do so safely, of course, so they would just have to do what they could. She was forced to take to the sky briefly, twirling about to avoid first one of the red beams, and then the next.

Pixie tracked back towards the Sentinels, weaving a cloud of dust around them while Will o' Wisp danced about, flickering in their glowing red eye sensors. It was a bit like playing cat 'n mouse, but with catnip and a pen light. But would it work on these robotic entities? Deftly avoiding their attacks, she took a zig-zagging path towards her teammates and the blip on her GPS. She glanced back to see the Sentinels shining with a thin layer of dust, illuminated with flashes of faerie light.

"You know that glow-y thing you do?" she nodded to Alani. "This party is turning into a real light show -- that should definitely get the X-men's attention."

"Ooh, so I get to be the carrot." Alani laughed briefly, still moving as she took in her surroundings in terms of using her powers. This had been her plan, but it wasn't like she could go all Junji Ito and make holes in the shape of her body. Jumping, a glow of pink flared as she slapped her hand through a low hanging branch and it teetered into then through her, letting off a larger light as it dissolved.

“How we looking, Meggan?”

“I think we’re looking good, actually. There’s no way for them to miss that,” Meggan reasoned with a laugh. She thought she had seen activity just beyond them, though there had been too much confusion with Sentinel evasion to verify. Now, she turned to confirm what she might have seen. Honestly, there was no way across multiple earths their actions would not have been noticed and brought the X-Men.

"Brilliant." With a clattering of her dragonfly-like wings, Pixie once again zipped away to herd the sentinels towards the destination. From in the air, she glimpsed that the X-Men were indeed following. "Great work, team!"
