Betsy is in the city, trying to find the excitement in a party that is obviously lacking. Unfortunately, there are other interests that have plans for our girl.
Nathan happens across Jake, who's hiding from Remy. The two of them have a talk (you get three guesses as to the subject of conversation, and the first two don't count). Nathan is reasonable, thoughtful, and asks a few questions. Jake begins to wonder if he shouldn't have taken his chances with Remy.
Sometime after returning with Alison to the mansion, a very sore and tired Nathan heads down to his office to get a book he needs for next week's classes. Manuel finds him there and challenges him on the car accident cover story. The conversation ends rather surprisingly, as Manuel both accepts that whatever really happened isn't his business, and does his best to try and help Nathan.
Two people on the edge due to stress take it out on each other. Unfortunately, Wanda's obviously in more need of a vacation than Scott and several things come to light.
Bridge heads to the hospital to deliver the promised riot-act-reading. It consists, among other things, of repetitive use of the word 'dumbass'. There's no yelling, though, and they manage to have a much-needed talk about what happened.
Moira's back from the hospital in time to have an unexpected guest show up to find out what's happened this time. Bridge is in for several nasty surprises--one being when Moira simply can't hold on anymore.
Scott's frustration with the lack of results from the Peru mission bubbles over once he gets back to the suite, and Jean very patiently listens to him rant until he gets it out of his system - which he does with commendable speed, actually. The two of them then indulge in their own version of domesticity.
With the lab secured, it becomes obvious that the team has indeed missed the opportunity to kick the spokes out of a certain someone's wheel. Betsy tries to find something to make the trip worthwhile, but winds up with nothing for her efforts. Really.
Cain, on watchdog duty, has the obligatory chat with his friend about idiotic lone wolf stunts and why Nathan Won't Be Doing That Again Anytime Soon (Or Else). He also reminisces happily about his encounter with Shaw and taunts Nathan with his coffee, just a little.
Betsy stops by the hospital to try and debrief Nathan, now that he's conscious. It goes a little better than Jean's attempt to scan his mind, but it's still not particularly informative.
Nearly thirty hours after the fight with Pete, Nathan finally wakes up. A couple of hours after that, he's surprisingly coherent, if confused, and already delivering the due self-flagellation for being so stupid.
Nathan makes it across town just in time, only to discover that his uncle withheld certain key facts about who exactly he could expect to run into. The unexpected reunion does not go well.
Moira, Scott and his team finally arrive at the hospital where Nathan was taken, only to find out that Saul beat them there. There's a brief, but nasty confrontation between Saul and Moira before the doctor - fortunately an acquaintance of Moira's - arrives and pulls her away to explain the rather alarming results of Nathan's bloodwork. Nathan isn't in any condition to tell them what happened, but Moira gets the basics across the link.
After a fruitless meeting over coffee with the person he'd hoped would be able to answer some of his questions about his 'Kashmir mystery', a frustrated Nathan heads back to his car, where he gets a call on his cell from his uncle. When the stakes are high enough, even stupid risks seem acceptable, and, not unexpectedly, Gideon knows just how to appeal to Nathan's reckless side.
