Sharon helps Nina after a tumble...

"Ow. Ow. Ow." Long before Domino appeared in the doorway of the medlab her approach could be anticipated, mostly because of the running commentary she was making as she hobbled down the hallway. Eventually she made it to her destination and slumped against the wall, her workout gear giving a clue as to the origin of her injury, if not its exact nature. "Hey," she said to the dark-haired woman bent over a textbook at the desk. "Are you a doctor?"

"Not a doc." Sharon replied as she looked up from her EMT refresher study materials and rose immediately as she saw the woman leaning against the wall. "But I can take a look at that for you. Need a hand or can you make it a few more meters to a treatment room?" She asked as she moved to her side.

"I made it all the way here, I'll last a few more feet," Dom said with a good-natured grimace, limping her way towards the treatment room. In truth her foot was already feeling better than it had been a few minutes ago, but better safe than sorry, right? With a sigh of relief she hitched herself up on the examining table. "Right, so: I'll take whatever magic pills you've got. The stronger, the better."

"Let's have a look first before we break out the pills." Sharon shook her head as she pulled on her gloves. It was already obvious which foot hurt, the one held gingerly while the other dangled loosely. "I need to take of your shoe, which might hurt a bit." She warned as she carefully pulled of the shoe.

Dom sucked in a breath as the other woman eased her sneaker off, tipping her head back to stare up at the white, tiled ceiling. "Couldn't you have just cut it off?" she quipped, the pain radiating up her leg. "Y'know, jaws of life, that sort of thing?"

"Bit of overkill for this, isn't it?" Sharon quipped back as she bent over the foot to examine it. "So... can you tell me what happened? And where does it hurt exactly?"

"I was running," the other woman replied, making a face at her general stupidity - running? What was she thinking? "Just outside, you know? And I guess I wasn't watching where I was going and I tripped over a rock or something and I think I twisted my ankle. At least that's what hurts. It's really sore and I can't really move my foot that well."

"Alright, I'm going to put a little pressure on some points of your foot. I want you tell me if it hurt." Sharon found the tibia and put some gentle pressure on the bone, moving her hand a a few centimeter upwards as she did so. "What if I do this?"

Domino peered down at her foot. "Yeah, I mean it's sore, I guess? But not any more than before."

"Alright. That is a good sign" Sharon shifted her hands to the fibula, repeating the process. "And what I push here? Only two more spots to go after this one."

There was no sign of sharp pain there or in the other two places that Sharon checked, leading her to believe that what she was dealing with was at worst a sprain, but not a break. Domino seemed relieved to hear this, her shoulders slumping a bit as she relaxed. "Thank god for that. I dunno what my powers would've been worth if they let me break my stupid ankle. Twisting it's bad enough, y'know?"

With a snap, Sharon pulled of her gloves and moved over to the small freezer they kept in the medlab to retrieve a cold pack. "Let's put this on it. And twisting it is annoying enough. Hope you don't have anything to do today which would have you walking a lot?"

"No, I kind of figured I'd be wrecked after my run anyway so I didn't schedule anything requiring a lot of movement this afternoon."

"Good." Sharon nodded. "Once we're done with the cold pack, I'll wrap it up for you. I want you to keep your ankle elevated at least today. What is it you do around here?" Sharon pulled over a seat.

"Hah, that's a good question. Besides injuring myself in stupid ways? I work with, uh, the Snow Valley crowd. Doing... 'research'." Domino didn't quite do the air quotes given that Sharon wasn't currently looking up at her, but it was pretty obvious from her tone of voice.

"Research. Got it. The type of 'I sit behind a computer all day' research or also a bit more active?" Sharon asked as she pulled over rolling cart, opening a drawer to dig out some bandages, tape and some safety scissors.

"A bit more active. You know, travelling the world, meeting interesting new people, shooting them in the face..."

"Sounds like a charming job. Though it's nice to see a lot of the world." Sharon responded, a note of sarcasm in her voice. She glanced at the clock above the door before continuing: "Only a few more minutes. How is your ankle feeling now?"

"It's okay. Still a little sore," Dom said, experimentally flexing her foot and wincing a little. "So what do you do? Besides bandaging up idiots who fall over rocks, I mean."

"I work here in the medlab, as well as in the Claremont Centre ER in the city for a few shifts starting this week." Sharon removed the cold pack and grabbed a role of bandages. "Can you manage to keep your foot like this?"

"Sure, I'll do my best." Dom concentrated on not moving her foot from the position Sharon had put it in as the other woman got to work wrapping it in bandages. After a few seconds she spoke again. "So which one sees the most stupid injuries? Here, or the ER? I bet it's here."

"You bet wrong... I don't get people here putting things in places where they were never meant to go. Or people who think it's smart to put firework in a beer bottle on the forth of July. He soon gained the nickname Frodo in the department back in Rapid City. But in the mansion... seems not too idiotic so far." Sharon snorted. "At least... not yet."

Dom grinned. "Yeah, I'd say just give it time. There are enough kids around here that one of them's bound to do something stupid soon. But it looks like they'll be in good hands when they do."

Sharon snipped of a piece of tape to keep the bandage in place and carefully pressed it into place. "There. You are good to go. And we have a good team down here. Bit unusual sometimes maybe, but a good team."

"Thanks, doc." Dom eased herself off the table, one hand holding the edge until she was able to get her feet underneath her properly. Then she grinned. "I'll make sure you're the first person I call if I put something where it's not meant to go."

"Just the picture I needed in my mind." Sharon rolled her eyes and gestured at Nina's taped foot. "Try to put that foot up as soon as possible and come back if you keep having trouble."

"Aye aye," Dom said with a lazy salute. Then, "take it easy, doc. I'll see you around."
