The X-Men meet in the Situation to discuss a mission against a possible Clan Akkaba group in Eastern Europe.

( Two days ago, they uncovered a link between the Clan Akkaba group and a WWII-era command bunker in Slovakia. )

Pyotr and April do a little bit of puppy training and enjoy the sunny day.

Called to North Africa by X-Force, the X-Men start with a bit of recon - Blink and Psylocke team up to scope out the compound.

( Villainous Decor R Us. )

Considering what they're facing, the X-Men go in for shock and awe, with Dominion and ~~Marvel Girl~~ Phoenix as the Shock.

( TK-directed flash grenade. That's all kinds of nasty in my head. )

Next up is Team Awe - Colossus and Nightcrawler, who literally drop into the ritual.

( Just be cautious, gunfire tends to ricochet off of my body. I'd hate to have to patch you up. )

Once Colossus and Nightcrawler are done clearing out the bad guys, Blink, Pyslocke and Spectrum come in to free the victims of the ritual.

( Magic was just... too much and she wasn't messing with it for anything. )

Faced with something not of this world, the rest of the team comes in to help rescue efforts. And find a surprise.

( There's someone in there. )

Pyotr gets his initial strength evaluation from Garrison via the Danger Room. Pyotr's not really happy about how it goes, but at least now he has a number and a goal.

Kyle runs Pyotr through some mostly non-powered fight skills assessment with ink markers instead of blades. It goes well, and colorfully.

Pyotr's trying to get everything done before the art show. This time around it's his suitemate April's turn to get her portrait done.

Darcy offers to assist Pyotr with his immigration paperwork. Things get off to a somewhat rocky start given his dislike of spies, but the two eventually find some common ground discussing food and farm life.

( In the meantime, spy who is not spy can help with paperwork, fool mighty American government into allowing mutant to stay in country legally, yes? )

Pyotr, as a part of his frenzy of painting to have his art ready for the District X Art Show, has asked Alani to participate in the project. So he paints her like one of his ~~French~~ Pacific Islander surfer girls.

( I was raised on lovely island foods, like Spam and pineapple on pizza. )

Their schedules finally align enough for April to meet her new roommate while grabbing lunch. They end up bonding a little over art and family, and agree to be occasional gym buddies.
