Amanda, Kyle, Gabriel and Jean arrive at AZTECA and the other part of the mission becomes apparent.
Amanda's teleport spell lit up AZTECA's parking lot as she dropped the four of them in front of the building. Off to one side, in front of a glowing portal stood Magneto, the red armored Brotherhood member, and the mute teleporter with the Zero black against his all white suit. As the spell faded, Magneto's eyes slipped over to them, and a small flash of fury crossed his too young face before it was hidden again.
"There is just one fight, and it continues over and over. But for now, this is where we part. But I want you to know one thing. No matter how hard they have fought me, how much we have conflicted, once I prevail, I will extend the hand of friendship to every mutant. Even the X-Men. But not you. You will be an example to mutants everywhere that we can forgive and accept even the most misguided of us, but not a traitor. There will be no forgiveness and no quarter from this point on, until your death at our hands." He gave the armored man one more look before stepping through the portal, followed by Zero, and the portal closed behind him.
The armored man reached up and pulled off the helmet before looking back at the newcomers. Garrison let go of the breath he hadn't realized he was holding. "Amanda, is everything ready to go?"
Conscious of the stares boring into her back, Amanda approached the long-lost X-Man. "Ready and waiting. Here's your amulet - it should get you back out." Her hand shook a little as she held it out, but her voice was calm and steady. "Let's get this shite over and done with."
Gabriel's eyes narrowed as he watched Amanda and Garrison "Oh," he grunted, making the syllable as irritated as he could. "Oh, fucking—" He looked at the building, then at Garrison, and then Amanda. "Fuck you," he practically spat out, not even unable to hide how annoyed he was and fully knowing that a part of her had to predict he'd have exactly this reaction.
Someone — he wasn't sure who, because he refused to break his glare at Amanda — made a noise, and so he held a hand up. "Yeah, yeah, not the time. Jesus." He took a few steps away from the group and instinctively reached for a cigarette before realizing he hadn't brought any. "But one of you two want to explain what the fuck he's doing here?"
"We have one chance to break Olivier's bridge from his dimension into ours and lock him away for a couple of eons. But it can't be done without the three of you. I'll explain on the way, but you need to come with me now. Otherwise, everything that has happened has been for nothing." Garrison said, as he collected the small shard of jade from Amanda and put it around his neck.
"No," a voice spoke up, unwavered and definitive. Jean had been blindsided into stunned silence during Amanda's magic taxi service and Garrison's reveal. But after taking it all in decided she had had enough.
"Explain now."
"Aw you gotta be fuckin' kidding me." Kyle's eye flicked between Garrison's face and the red helmet. "You motherfucker. Amanda, this better have a good fucking reason." He shook his head, and held out one hand. "Just give me the stupid thing, fuck. Not like I have a fucking choice, right?"
"You can take Olivier down or you can waste time out here and let him escape. Either way, I'm going in." Garrison said coldly and turned back towards the club, walking away from them.
Gabriel's eyes followed Kane's path, and he let out some aggrieved noise approximating a sigh. "For the spell to work," he said, addressing Jean and Kyle without really directly addressing them, "we all have to be there." He nodded toward Amanda. "She can explain it. Barely."
He then turned around from his position on the fringes and looked Jean straight in the eye. "I need you to do this," he said to her, a matter-of-fact statement rather than a plea. He didn't bother to elaborate; he didn't really know how to explain to her that there was no part of him that felt comfortable knowing Olivier was out there, and that he would never forgive her if she was the obstacle keeping them from putting him away.
Jean didn't look away from Gabriel. She let out a laugh. "Do you really think I want to keep Olivier around? All I wanted was a goddamn explanation of the plan before going to fight the demon that violated us and nearly killed me instead of going in blindly. But hey, if he really does kill me this time you don't have to worry about me anymore. Since I'm not your Jean. Don't worry, I'll get the job done," she said, turning to follow Garrison.
Well, at least they were moving. Amanda grimaced at the palpable hostility and finally spoke as she joined the straggling group moving towards the club. “There are four anchor points that keep Oliver’s sub-dimension here. You four are able to destroy those anchor points, and once that’s done, you get back out through my portal. Only those wearing the amulets will be able to go through, no-one else,” she explained as she passed the final amulet over to Jean. “Olivier’s already weakened by the fight with the Sentinels and Magneto… he won’t have the strength to stop you.”
"But he will shortly. He heals extremely quickly in his corner of hell. Even with the barrage of silver and cold iron Magneto hit him with, our window of opportunity is only a few minutes." Kane said, breaking into a trot. "I'll answer any questions you want after, but if you want to seal off Olivier for good, it's now or never."
The club was fortunately still closed and deserted. The VIP doors had been ripped off their hinges when the wounded Hell-lord had gone through minutes before. Now the five of them faced the portal of black fire. Garrison gave a quick look to Amanda, who was already chanting off an intricate ritual. Without a second's pause, he plunged through, the other three steps behind him, straight into hell.
