Lil heads to the garage to take Mist for a ride and ends up having a conversation about her 'status' with Lex.

Dressed in a pair of short denim jeans and green halter, the mansion's resident giantess made her way to the garage, humming softly and offkey to herself as she walked. It had been a quiet day - a blessing considering what had happened in the last week - and Lil was out to enjoy it now that she wasn't a Zombie or passed out on her couch. A ride on Mist, maybe into the city for some shopping or just lunch alone sounded like the perfect way to unwind.

Though, not as perfect as the idea that sprung to mind when she found Lex out among the cars and bikes.

"You stay in here too long and you're gonna go as loopy as Forge," she warned with a chuckle and stepped into the garage. "Lack of sunlight and all those chemicals you could be inhaling. I don't think I could handle another Bits for Brains."

Lex looked up and smiled. He hadn't been expecting Lil to stop by the garage, not while he was working at least, but he found the sight of her very pleasant. "I tend to see him as eccentric, and a good person to work with. He's all business when he's in here." He looked around, wondering where the man had disappeared to.

Lex stood and took a rag from the toolbox at his side. "So, are you here on business, or did you just stop by to say hello?" he said, wiping at the grease on his hands.

Lil lifted one shoulder then let it fall in a casual shrug before she leaned back against her Harley. Arms and ankles crossed, she looked the mechanic up and down, taking in his rugged - and slightly dirty - features. "Came to make sure you weren't messing with my bike again. I don't need to hire personal security or anything to keep you away from it, do I?" she teased.

Lex dropped the cloth as he walked forward. "I don't know," he said softly, "depends on if you're going to keep dropping by to check up on me." He moved towards her, wondering how she'd react to him sliding up next to her.

"I can think of worse people to have to babysit," she purred in return. Green eyes never left his face as she watched him move closer, holding her own position while grinning like the Cheshire Cat. "I think you're too smart to tempt fate though. You fuck with my bike and there'd be some serious consequences."

Lex thought about that for a moment, if he messed with her bike she might chase him around... or she'd shoot him. He didn't like the prospect of the latter, so he decided he'd use a different approach. "Now that's not very nice," he said, moving right up next to her and whispering in her ear, "We should be able to share..."

Eyelashes fluttered for a moment before her eyes flickered back forward. "You've still got a hell of a lot to learn about me if you think I'm in to sharing, Sweetie. I got sent here because I don't play well with others. You fuck with my bike and I'm gonna be very unhappy." Lil continued to smile, small but self-satisfied as she feigned her non-interest in his closeness.

"Very well," he smiled as he spoke, "but if I can't play with the bike I'll have to make due with the rider." He leaned impossibly close, making sure to keep his hands off the bike. "You just tell me when and where."

"Mmm. Any particular games you looking to play?" Lil replied, her mouth next to his ear so he could feel her warm breath on his skin. Chests were mere inches apart and Lil couldn't stop smiling. She'd missed this; the fun in flirting that was raw and pure hormones taking over. "And if it's taking orders you're into, I'm sure we're gonna get along just fine."

Lex moaned slightly. It had been almost a year since he'd had a woman this close to him, and now that she was he didn't want to move. "Anything you want, though I'm a particular fan of the one that involves cards and losing clothes." He grinned, knowing she couldn't see his face, and gently slid his arm around her back to pull them flush together.

Her breath caught for a moment as she was pulled towards him and both of her hands moved to rest on his biceps. "Damn shame neither of us have a deck," the blonde woman teased, shifting slightly so she could run one leg against the inside of his. Lil was well aware the delicious fun would be short lived once she told him about Madison but it had been too long since she was in the arms of a pursuer and a few more moments of basking in the attention would do little harm. "Good thing I came down here looking for a ride, huh?"

"Good thing," Lex repeated, pushing her gently back onto the bike. He leaned her up against the seat and followed her down. He brought his lips to within an inch of hers and let them linger there, waiting for her to approve before he moved in to kiss her. His heart was throbbing, and he could feel the blood pounding through his head as he looked into her deep green eyes.

Settling on the bike with him standing between her legs, Lil moved one hand to cup the back of his neck while her tongue flicked out and over his lips before disappearing again. "Lex," she whispered, trailing the tip of her nose along his jawline before she dropped her head to his shoulder with a sigh.

"You're going to hate me," the giantess breathed, followed by a mutter of 'being a bitch' and an apology just as she lifted her head to meet his gaze again. "There's something I gotta tell you that you're not gonna like hearing. I'm married - but we've been separated for seven, almost eight months," Lil added quickly with a frown.

Lex leaned in and briefly kissed her neck, "That's a shame." He was surprised at how calm he sounded, especially since he wanted to simply groan and walk away. All he could think of was the year he'd spent without intimate physical contact. He backed up a step and looked back into her eyes, "I bet he doesn't know how lucky he is."

Lil remained seated on the bike, frowning up at him but kept her gaze locked with his. "He's an ass. All he cares about right now is making Alpha and playing with his robot," she replied bitterly. Her fingers itched to reach out to him again, to pull him close, to... "He's back in Canada and I haven't seen him since November; haven't talked to him in months, either. But I wanted to make sure you knew the truth. I don't lie about Madison and you would have found out eventually but I thought it better that it come from me than one of the gossips."

Lex sighed, he wanted to be mad at her, to blame her for leading him on, but he couldn't. He understood her position fairly well... hell, everything except the "'till death do us part" bit. He tried to smile, painfully aware of how forced it had to be. "I'm glad you told me... I don't do lying and I'd probably have lost a lot of respect for you if we'd continued... no matter how much I enjoyed it."

He turned his back to her and sat hard on the ground at her feet. It couldn't fail to surprise him, the first girl he gets close to in a year and she ends up already being someone else's. Go figure. "So, what do we do now?" he asked, looking up at her.

The blonde woman shrugged her shoulder again. "That's up to you," Lil told him, forcing herself not to touch her left ring finger. "I don't know when I'm going home. Or even when I'm going to talk to him again but I am going home. I'm not looking for a relationship, Lex." She wanted to be honest about that with him now that she knew. What she'd tried with Bishop hadn't worked and there was too much guilt even with Peter. "No sex, just... fun. I am sorry that I lead you on though."

Lex let his head dropped and stared out across the garage. He couldn't bring his eyes up as he spoke, but he knew what he was about to say was the truth, somehow... "I understand," he breathed, "I'm not going to lie, I was very much hoping to become intimate with you... but I do understand, and so I'm gonna say this: I like you, a lot, and I want to continue having fun with you...if only to keep me sane till I can settle in. If you don't want to do the physical side, I can agree to that, but as you know Charles approved me to become part of the team yesterday and I don't want this tension to impede us doing what has to be done." He paused, trying to figure out if his point was getting across. "What I mean to say is, if you think we need to keep our relationship strictly professional, I'd do it. I wouldn't like it, but I'd do it."

There, he'd said his piece. If she told him that she didn't really care about him and that she wanted to distance herself from him, he'd understand... well, as best as any man could understand a woman. He'd still need to take time and rethink what he just said, but he was pretty sure he could live with whatever she could dish out to him. He laughed a little, it wasn't like she'd physically hurt him as long as he stayed away from her bike.

Biting on her lower lip, the blonde woman slid off the bike to sit on the floor next to him, legs crossed and hands in her lap. "I like you, too." Lil wasn't sure if that attraction came from something purely physical or more but it was certainly there. "I'm not gonna lie and say that I don't love my husband because I do even though he's an asshole but there's a lot between us that has to be resolved. That resolution though isn't anywhere in sight, however." She took a deep breath and tried to focus her thoughts, knowing how ridiculous she sounded. "How about, we just... see where things take us, eh? No expectations, no hard feelings and what happens, happens." It left plenty of room for both of them; her for Madison, him with whoever else may cross his path. "Professional when we need to be, more if more happens. Say, at a bar, drunk off our asses," Lil added with a hint of humor, bumping his shoulder with hers.

Lex chuckled a little, and leaned back. He couldn't believe that he was going to say yes to what she had proposed, but he couldn't bear to say no. It had been far too long. He turned his head to her and smiled. "I think I can do that. No promises, no remorse. Sounds like the only thing left for us. Now, if you don't mind, I think I'd just like to sit like this for a while with you and think."

"You wouldn't rather take a ride on Mist?" she asked, placing her chin on his shoulder and pouting softly. Long fingers ran along the inside of his wrist, twirling tight spirals on his skin. "Show you the city some. Plenty of time to think on the back of a hog. What do you say?"

"Mmmm..." he moaned, "I think I might just be up for that." He jumped to his feet, and turned to help her up after. Once she was on her feet he sat across the back of the bike, and patted the seat in front of him playfully. "Well, let's away."
