Finding Tabitha gone, Dani rushes to the nearest source of help.
Grabbing her cellphone, Dani realized she was around the corned from the X-force brownstone and they could respond much faster than Westchester, unless Clarice was on comms or something. Gripping her phone tightly, she took off around the corner, glad now that she ran for exercise.
Pounding on the door to the brownstone she hoped someone was in. Someone always was, right? She was pretty sure someone always was. Then again, with how many alcohol jokes they made, maybe she should wish for someone in and sober. Well, she'd take what she could get. Or call the school.
The pounding made Bishop respond with urgency, tossing open the door and looking down at Dani. "I'm guessing something's wrong." He didn't know why she was at Snow Valley during an emergency yet and he didn't think he would be getting the story immediately, either.
Nodding, Dani's lip curled up almost unintentionally, "Tabitha. A guy she used to know...is anyone else here?" She wasn't really explaining very well, "Come on!"
"No." Bishop was short and direct like Dani. No reason to delay by asking questions when things were clearly important enough to fluster the woman into not being able to speak.
She hadn't met this guy, but she had seen him around. Then again, she hadn't met a lot of people, but he'd do. Nicely even, there was no fear in him related to this, "Just a few blocks away," she said, taking off back the way she had come.
It didn't take long for them to reach where Tabitha and Porter were. Only in New York City could an Indian girl and a black man go running through the streets and no one so much as try to stop them. Oh, New York. Looking around, Dani couldn't see them anywhere and with so many people and so many fears around, it was hard to focus on something so nebulous at Tabitha's specific ones. "Where are they?" she asked rhetorically.
"I need to know more." Bishop nearly whispered it to Dani, making in look casual and sincere. They could almost be mistaken for friends or more if they hadn't just sprinted down the street. Maybe they still could be. "I don't know who I'm looking for and I bet if he took a mutant then he has something I need to be informed of."
"They were just here..." she said, then turned towards Bishop, "Tabitha...used to know this guy. A teleporter named Porter. She worked for him. He wants her to work for him again, to help him," she didn't want to betray Tabitha's friendship, but he was right, he needed to know more. "She doesn't want to help him."
Bishop looked down to Dani, then back up to the street. "We're not going to find him standing here. He probably didn't leave much behind. If she worked for him I can use that, though." A mutant who could teleport. He wouldn't leave anything entering or exiting a scene and that's where most evidence came from. It wasn't time to think about how to catch him yet; just how to find him.
