Out late for some air, Jim spots Nathan flying. Nathan proceeds to demonstrate that he doesn't have a good grip on the whole concept of landing, but thankfully telekinetic exoskeletons are tough things. He and Jim walk back to the mansion and talk, and Nathan unintentionally touches upon a very sensitive issue for the younger man. Thankfully, he also handles Jim's subsequent mini-breakdown well.

Whoops. I think I broke something. )

After the previous night's somewhat volatile talk with Nathan, Haller has a mercifully quiet encounter with one of the staff members least likely to compound emotional trauma.

I will not say I have not been tempted to return to my old life, but... it passes. )

Drablet sized for your convenience. Just a little fun; Paige doesn't like weddings. Alison is no dummy. That doesn't mean Alison can't pounce and make her dance with. Twirling does not equal weddings, after all.

A slightly out of tune humming was heard before Paige entered the kitchen... )

Kyle and Forge -had- meant to go out for music. Other people had different plans in mind, at least for Kyle. As a bonus, Forge gets slightly squished.

Look over your shoulder, run away from the pack // Down a vacant corridor // Turn the knife in your back, knife in your back )

Forge, on the phone, with Nathan. It is said that a brave man will do stupid things for his friends, still Forge is grateful he doesn't have to.

Everybody called out, everybody held together. )

Lense calls Nathan's phone, delivers threats.

All I've seen are lost in the rain. )

Prelude to a class reunion, Alison tries to settle Nate down a bit before he goes in to deal with Lense.

Swore to the road a sort of beat redemption code // and stepped out the way I came )

Kyle is a mouthy so and so, and doesn't know when to shut up. Fortunatly, Lense doesn't turn him into Kyle-flavored jelly for talking too much. He does tell Kyle something he probably never needed to know, about the rest of the trainee group that Kyle was in when Mistra had him.

Take it down to the bottom line // stripped bare, it seems unkind )

Nate and Kurt to the rescue! Why is it always Nate rescuing Kyle? Why can't Kyle get to see a butt being kicked? These are very important questions for a fifteen year old boy.

...on temporary sacred ground to bruise the knees for those around )

As promised, Lense gets his butt kicked. He does put up a good fight, and trades insults with Nathan. In the end, Nate wins, Lense loses, and the garage isn't doing so well either.

And if you know what you want, then that's the price that you pay // I've seen that look somewhere before promises those eyes have made // And now they're shattered and torn, shattered and torn // No exceptions to the rule... )

Cut tag lyrics by Fighting Gravity. Yes, that's a real band name. I thought it highly appropriate. The specific lyrics may or may not have anything to do with the contents of the cut.

After they arrive home safely, Kurt and Nate talk about Lense, the past, Nate's new trick, and Kurt's teleporting fumes.

Brother you've taken a different path from me // He speaks no longer of the days passed by )

During Kyle's post-rescue checkup, Nate stops by to talk to him, and to give him some reassurances. Kyle's not exactly doing well, emotionally. And an offer to go to the memorial in Arlington. And Ani's email address.

Should we feel this way? // Knowing that it's difficult being me knowing you // Knowing what we know. )

Jim comes down to beat his head against Moira's desk for his slip with Nathan. Moira manages to calm him down a little and they find that it's not so hard to slip back into normal routine with friends you haven't seen in a while.

One-stop shopping for all my sanity needs? )
