Scott brings Madelyn breakfast. Dinner. Whatever. It's food, and there's non-medical conversation.

After a fruitless meeting over coffee with the person he'd hoped would be able to answer some of his questions about his 'Kashmir mystery', a frustrated Nathan heads back to his car, where he gets a call on his cell from his uncle. When the stakes are high enough, even stupid risks seem acceptable, and, not unexpectedly, Gideon knows just how to appeal to Nathan's reckless side.

As he promised in his e-mail, Alex calls his grandparents. Deborah even suggests a visit to cheer him up. For once in Hawaii, Alex is really happy.

Moira, Scott and his team finally arrive at the hospital where Nathan was taken, only to find out that Saul beat them there. There's a brief, but nasty confrontation between Saul and Moira before the doctor - fortunately an acquaintance of Moira's - arrives and pulls her away to explain the rather alarming results of Nathan's bloodwork. Nathan isn't in any condition to tell them what happened, but Moira gets the basics across the link.

He's not a genius, or a doctor, or a superhero, but you don't always need to be to help out: some time after Kitty vanishes into the server room to crunch code, Jamie brings her food and support and manages to strike a balance between giving her space to work and not letting her work herself into the ground.

And he steals a cookie, because sometimes you just have to steal a cookie.

No food was spilled on delicate computer equipment during the making of this log. )
